Giorgio Primo 2010

The “Grand Vin”, sublimated through a great passion for the Bordeaux grape varieties. Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Petit Verdot, carefully selected and deriving from single particles of skeleton-rich clayey and schistose soils. It represents the highest territorial expression of the company.

5% Petit Verdot

The 2010 vintage is turning point for La Massa. The new collaboration with Stéphane Derenoncourt has allowed us to experiment with new farming practices and develop innovative winemaking techniques, all centered in the development of our terroir. The climate in 2010 was marked by a rather cold and rainy winter, influencing the late harvest of the grapes. After a rather rainy spring, a hot summer ensured a perfect development of clusters. Sunny days alternating with cool night temperatures resulted in a perfect development of the polyphenolic component of the grapes. Careful management of leaf stripping to ensure better aeration of the grapes and the reduction of production contributed to an exceptional quality of wines.

5,000 bottles of .750 ml of Giorgio Primo 2010 vintage were produced.

The successive drawing off directly from the vats to new French Oak barriques is followed by an 18 month maturation period during which continual sensory tastings and analysis are performed to evaluate the evolution of the wines.

The wine was bottled all at one time in the beginning of July 2012.
