50% Cabernet Sauvignon

40% Merlot

10% Petit Verdot

The 2014 vintage is one of the most unique in La Massa. After a winter that was 2-3 °C warmer compared to the average, a mild and dry spring followed. These conditions led to early budding of the vines still permetting a good vegetation development in the early stages of growth, which accelerated the flowering. In the second half of June, temperatures cooled slowing growt and bringing the phenological phases to its normal timing and speed. Abundant rains however made it necessary to perform a careful leaf and cluster thinning techni¬cs in order to facilitate the aeration thus reducing the build up moisture in order to counteract possible infections. With this appropriate work in the vineyards including a careful choice of treatments healthy grapes were mainteined all the way to harvest. The harvest began in the second half of September and ended in the first half of October. Good tempe¬ratures and no rain during the picking allowed for an excellent ripening of the grapes.

The bottling took place in May 2016.

2014 is one of latest harvests in La Massa history. The vintage 2014 was vinified entirely in the new cellar. The wines were then aged in 50% new French oak barrels which emphasize the features of our terroir and this vintage.

The 2014 vintage will produce 7.000 bottles.
