The 2021 vintage followed a distinctive climatic pattern that shaped its profile in a fascinating way. The year began with a mild, dry winter, followed by unusually warm temperatures that led to early budbreak. However, a sudden cold spell caused some damage to the young shoots.
Spring brought abundant rainfall, followed by a gradual rise in temperatures through to mid-June. The summer was exceptionally hot and dry, creating ideal conditions for vine growth and optimal cluster development. The result was a harvest characterised by remarkable polyphenolic richness.
Merlot was harvested at the end of September, while Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot were picked in mid-October.
