Giampaolo\u2019s and his friend and advisor Stephane Derenouncourt\u2019s desire to compete and collide with a vine variety among the most difficult and unruly: the Sangiovese. Deriving exclusively from vineyard No. 6, planted in 1999 with south-west exposure, a unique substrate of grey shale and sand, which awards the wine great minerality and splendid notes of graphite. Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Petit Verdot, carefully selected and deriving from single particles of skeleton-rich clayey and schistose soils.
