Carla 6 2019
Carla 6 comes from the desire of Giampaolo and his friend and advisor Stephane Derenouncourt to compete and collide with a vine among the most difficult and unruly: the Sangiovese. Coming exclusively from vineyard No. 6: a unique substrate of gray schist and sand, which gives the wine great minerality and splendid notes of graphite. A pure Sangiovese, vinified and aged individually in French oak tonneaux.
THE 2019 VINTAGE
The 2019 vintage was characterized by a generally regular climate. After a winter with sporadic and not very abundant rains accompanied by temperatures between zero and about 10 ° C, spring began with a marked change in rainy days that enriched the soil with the fundamental water resource to overcome the summer temperatures.
The increase in temperatures allowed for regular germination. The hot summer with some precipitation accompanied the growth of the plant and the subsequent ripening of the regular bunches and optimal phenological development.
In mid-September, after some rain rehydrated the grapes, which brought back the balance between the various organoleptic components, we harvest the 1th of October.
WINEMAKING
The vintage 2019 was vinified in the steel vat. The wines were then aged in 50% new French oak tonneaux, which emphasize the features of our terroir and this vintage.
Carla 6 continued its elevage in a concrete tank for 12 months before being bottled in July 2021. The wine stay one year in bottle before release. The 2016 vintage has produced about 3.500 bottles
